PGIMER Nursing Officer Qualification 2026
Candidates applying for the Nursing Officer post at PGIMER Chandigarh must meet either of the following qualification criteria:
Option 1: B.Sc. Nursing
Candidates must have any one of these qualifications:
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing from a recognized University/Institute, or
- Regular B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University/Institute, or
- Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University/Institute.
In addition, the candidate must be registered as a Nurse or Nurse & Midwife (RN/RN & RM) with the concerned State Nursing Council.
Experience: No separate hospital experience is required under this qualification route.
Option 2: GNM Diploma
Candidates must have:
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized Board or Council.
- Valid registration as a Nurse or Nurse & Midwife with a State Nursing Council.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a hospital with a minimum of 50 beds, obtained after completing the required GNM qualification.
Important Note
Degrees or diplomas obtained through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) will be accepted only if they were duly recognized for the relevant period in accordance with the applicable Ministry of Education rules.
